Ensemble Auditions

Below are the dates for the Fall 2010 auditions:

Choral Ensemble

MUSC 160, 260, 360, 460, directed by Dr. Karen Frederickson.

  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6.30 - 9.30 pm, Location: Dupuis Auditorium
  • Audition Requirements for NEW members only: Be prepared to sing O Canada or another piece of music from memory.
  • Audition Dates and Times: Monday, Sept. 13, 6:30-10:30 p.m., Rm. 213. Former members of Queen's Choral Ensemble intending to return or former members of Polyhymnia desiring to sing with Queen's Choral Ensemble should contact Dr. Frederickson prior to the audition dates indicating your intention, including interest in singing in a small chamber choir. The first rehearsal will be Tuesday, Sept. 14.

Jazz Ensemble

MUSC 166, 266, 366, 466, directed by Mr. Greg Runions.

  • Rehearsals: Tuesday 4.00-5.30 pm & Thursday 5.30-7.00 pm, HLH 120
  • Audition Requirements: Sight-reading as a group.
  • Audition Dates and Times: Tuesday Sept. 14, 4.00-5.30 pm & Thursday, Sept. 16, 5.30-7.00 pm, HLH 120

Symphony Orchestra

MUSC 162, 262, 362, 462, directed by Mr. Gordon Craig.

  • Rehearsals: Mondays & Wednesdays, 4.00-5.30 pm, HLH 120
  • Audition requirements: Prepare a short piece, unaccompanied. May also be required to sight-read.
  • Audition Dates and Times: Strings: Monday, Sept. 13, 4:00-6:00 pm, HLH 120; Woodwinds: Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2:30-4:00 pm, HLH 120; Brass & Percussion: Wednesday, Sept. 15, 4:00-6:00 pm, HLH 120, or by individual appointment: Call Gordon Craig 613-533-6000 ext. 74212

Wind Ensemble

Samba Ensemble (Unspecified Ensemble)

MUSC 263, 363, 463, directed by Mr. Daniel Shipp.

  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 pm, HLH 120
